Open solenoid, open solenoid control circuit, open in the TCM or a programming problem. It is a Chrysler product after all.
Backyard mechanics use $50 scanners, expert mechanics use $4,000 scanners, and that included transmission shops. The difference s that the expensive units provide direction for repairs, or sort of a drilldown list for diagnostics, more common causes to least common causes. A professional mechanic will find the cause quickly, where it might take you days.
This is a transmission problem. Either the solenoid is bad or the wiring going to it is bad. The TCC locks in to give you better gas mileage and lower engine RPMs when you're at cruising speed. The TCC solenoid is activated to lock in the TCC to achieve this. Without it you have no overdrive and your gas mileage will suffer. The repair will pay for itself in increased gas mileage very shortly! A transmission shop is your best bet for this fix. Jim
